Helping Kids Make Friends with Art

This past week, I had the chance to interview Abby Rischin, the founder & president of a non-profit called, Step Into Art.  She partners with art teachers in Boston schools to offer students different ways to interact with works of art in museums, as well as connect with specific artists.

By the end of the program, students feel as if they're "friends" with the art and artists, and walk away having created their own works. In other words, they experience the fact that, as long as they want to, they can create art, that it's not just something for people from the "special, talented planet."
